We're required to keep all records of trades, even if no identity info other than email associated. Also, for the new exchange, the trades will be on a public blockchain anyways.

It's only passed along if requested or if transactions exceed $10K USD in a day. Or if transactions are somehow deemed suspicious.

As soon as is reasonably possible. Within hours for sure I guess, probably much sooner.

Give them a minute or two to edit the terms! It's like you expect them to change history immediately.

We're in progress now setting up a new exchange to allow trading Steem for Hive and other coins. I think the new exchange will be ready by the time Hive launches.

Note that to trade on this new exchange, we will require customer's to be authorized on the https://blocktrades.us via their account there (this is required by US regulations).

We will also maintain our existing "instant exchange" service which will continue to function as normal, but going forward our "instant service" will only support Hive, not Steem.

Yes, I'm pretty certain people want the new Hive token.

But I think it's not just existing users: we've had a ton of publicity in the crypto community over the past weeks. This news, coupled with the announcement of Hive as a solution to the fight with Justin Sun has intrigued many people I think.

It depends on where you're at I think. A similar site for bitcoin in the US called localbitcoins, has been under some pressure from government regulators I think. But I don't know exactly what they do. A simple site where people can post info about offers is probably not a problem. But I haven't really looked into it much.

This is a blockchain, not a company. Justin just bought a company (one that is mostly worthless now). The real value is the people and technology and the technology is all open-source.

I think his plan was simply find more users/buyers of Tron. And to do that by bringing a social media platform to Tron. But this plan was always technically not acheivable, in my opinion, because Tron is too slow to support what Steem does.

At this point, Justin has just lost it all. His whole plan has fallen apart in the face of community resistance.

His original idea was to swap Steem tokens for a TRON token to bring new users to Tron, it seems. When almost no one seemed interested in this plan, he announced another one (atomic swap back and forth between the chains). But it became obvious soon that he never planned to actually do this, so all the Steemit developers quit. I think his next plan was to sell off all the Steem tokens he got from Steemit as fast as possible. Mind you, I can't read minds, this is just my best guess. In hindsight, it's easy to say he didn't have a good plan for Steem or understand it very well.

You can always make trades with other people directly. I don't know of any listing site that matches up buyers/sellers though.

The @ name is fixed at the blockchain-level currently, so if you want to change the name of your account, simplest thing is to buy a new one with the new name.

There will be multiple frontends for posting and voting available for Hive. hive.io is an "official" site of the blockchain with links to various hive-related sites, including those frontends.

hive.blog is a condenser clone supporting hive, and it will therefore support communities in their current form. There will likely be several such sites available, supported by various community members.

They don't have to list, they just have to commit to allowing for customers to withdraw credited tokens later. But if they do that, listing wouldn't be much more work. This requirement just prevents them from pocketing the tokens of their customers.

We got a plan for that, not that I see it as a likely scenario. More details to come soon.

There's no theft: Steem will still exist and so will those tokens. This is a voluntary movement by people who don't want to support the value of those tokens, when they were promised for development and people made decisions based on those promises.

This is one of the true wonders of blockchain technology: it allows people to freely associate, disassociate from those with differing principles, and reform as a group again, all on a voluntary basis. At the end of the day, the value of the coins on both chains will be determined by the values of the supporters of each coin.
